SONGS OF MY LIFE

Twenty-five. How have I possibly been alive that long??? Looking back, some of the trials I have faced make me feel like I should be a lot farther along, but most of my actions (and my baby face) make it seem like I am just starting out! It’s so cool to think that for almost 10,000 days, the Lord has been leading and guiding my life to where I am, right now. He’s purposefully tailored this life to me, and I’m so excited to see what He’s got planned, even within just the next year of my life. I have a feeling it will be a wild ride, one I would never have picked for myself, but perfect for me, nonetheless.

When I was young, twenty-five seemed like such a big deal. It just seemed like a number that held a lot of weight to it, ya know? By twenty-five, I was going to be established, married, possibly a couple of kids. Yup, I was going to be knee deep in my meticulously crafted plan. Let’s all just take a moment and laugh at incorrect that foresight was.

If I’ve learned anything over the past twenty-five years, it is not to take things so seriously. As long as we stay close to God, life is going to unfold exactly how it is supposed to. There is no point in getting upset when you have to scrap the plan! Live in the moment, search for the good, and make it fun!

So, piggy-backing off of that thought, one week ago, I threw away the plan I had for my big “Twenty-fifth Birthday Blog”. To you, my beloved readers, I had planned to present “Twenty-five Lessons in Twenty-Five Years”. Can you imagine what a snooze fest that would have been? Sparing you all from that incredible torture, I decided to live a little. You only turn twenty-five once, right?

Below is a list of songs from my lifetime. For each year I have been alive, I handpicked a song that really resonated with me. Some are songs my parents permanently burned in my young brain, some carry treasured high school memories, and some are slightly embarrassing. 😂 However, since this is my birthday post, I expect no judgement from the audience, m’kay?

Strolling down memory lane, collecting my bouquet of songs, was so much fun, and a perfect way to celebrate twenty-five years of Ellie. I’d encourage anyone who has the chance to give it a try, but I‘m going to warn you, it will leave you very sentimental, slightly embarrassed, and torn between too many good options.

Love you all, and thank you for all of your consistent support. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people surrounding me, making me feel so loved for twenty-five years!

Maximus,

Thank you so much for your kind wishes, I had an incredible birthday! I am very spoiled by my family, my Heavenly Father, and my Savior. I know what you mean, it's crazy how just listening to a song can relax you, bringing you home to a simpler time.

Thank you for sharing some of your favorite songs! I had not heard of any of them, but "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury has become one of my new favorites! All of them reminded me how loved I am by my Savior and Heavenly Father, and I hope they are able to do the same for you!
