SONGS OF PEACE

Updated: Sep 24, 2020

You’d think with so much time on my hands, I would be able to come up with a ground-breaking, tear-jerking, (hopefully) faith-building blog for Easter Weekend. Nope. I even had a hard time coming up with terrible ideas, this time around! Although I have had many spiritual, testimony-building moments over the past few weeks, it just didn’t feel quite right to share them with the world. Maybe those moments are just to raw and personal to share right now. Maybe the Lord had a different, inspired direction for my blog. Or maybe it’s just that I am really tired of hearing about quarantine, so any topic that may be related to that was immediately vetoed. Whatever the reason, I was at a complete loss for what to write about, so I did the only logical thing one could do. I put of my Easter blog, and instead wrote about more important things, like hair 😉

Don’t worry, Heavenly Father came through for us, once again, just as He always does. As I turned my thoughts from what content I was DONE seeing, and focused more on what content I wanted to see, the answer quickly came: Music. Music is so healing, isn’t it? In just a couple of minutes, our moods, our attitudes, and our entire day can pull complete one-eighties. Specifically during trying times, spiritual music is of great aid to me. Spiritual music allows us to slow down, feel the Spirit of the Lord filling us with peace, and it helps us to recognize our Savior and Heavenly Father’s love amidst all of the chaos.

So, with the Lord’s help, I have settled on a simple, uplifting topic, but one that seems extremely applicable. Below is a list of songs that help me to regroup, be at peace, and recognize Their voices in the storms.

I’d like to thank EFY and my Young Women’s leaders for bringing such powerful music into my life. These songs are my stabilizers. As I listen to their important words, my fears are quickly stifled, I am filled with wonderful memories, and I am reminded that I am loved. I hope that they were able to evoke similar thoughts and feelings for you. If you have any particular songs that help you to feel the Savior’s peace, please, share them with me! Happy Easter, everyone! #HearHim
